The first thing I did after I realized the water problems in my apartment were over and I would be able to stay, was going over to Cathy's and get my wall hanging that I had bought at Yuanming Yuan, the Old Summer Palace. Here it is. It is a cut paper picture called "Going to Market". There are many of these for sale at inexpensive prices, but this one is much better quality than those. The paper is a high grade, almost velour and the quality of the fabric it is mounted on is also better. The walls here are made of extremely hard plaster but there already was a hanger in place over the TV that I never use, so there it hangs. You might ask why I never watch TV; there's only one English language station that broadcasts the same thing over and over again; eventually it's not worth it. Also, I never have time for TV. I do listen to MPR a

ll the time which is a godsend. Since the doors on my closet kept falling off and hitting me on the head, the landlord installed the new ones seen here. They are pretty and make the apartment much nicerI've bought a few other things for t he apartment too, like the comforter for my bed, the large tea lights for Ikea, and the beautiful blown glass vase that I bought at the kwai store for 5 kwai because it has a hole in the side. I bought the ffake roses at
the Ikea. The Swedish Ivy I pinched off some plants one day and put them in a cut down plastic water bottle. One of these days they'll have roots.
